Know You're Role

I just suffered through..I mean watched Jessica Simpson perform on the Ellen Degenerous show on YouTube from when she was on this week and I couldn't help but wonder...Why is she famous again?

I've got a very strong love/hate deal going with that family because first and foremost I don't agree with their early career moves, especially Jessica's and how she started off in the Christian world and quickly changed to secular music citing her boobs as the reason. (I do however drool over her line of shoes and found myself buying her edible makeup at one point.)

But her voice and performing skills leave one questioning the people behind her label, what were they thinking?
And Ashley she's got a great voice and I think she's a better performer but her reality show revealed the fact that she's nasty to her mom and has an intense potty mouth.

And these are the girls others look up to? Oh gosh.
It's like the blind leading the blind.

Just like "The Hills" or more adequately titled "The Insecure" My only hope as I watch that show (with the car wreck metaphor playing strongly in my head...can't...look...away...)is that other girls who are just as insecure see how people like Heidi and Audrina throw themselves away to trash boyfriends and hopefully those girls watching somehow pull from that more respect for themselves.

*shivers* I cannot dwell on the thought of these people being labeled "role models" because while they may be able to pull off the part of the model, they are vastly unaware of the significant role they play.

Grace in your face

There's really nothing to compare the special love between a pet and their owner.
The last for years of my life has been the first time I've ever lived without an animal...hopefully that will soon change :)
Until then I enjoy Sarah's cat Gershwin and my Mother-in-laws dogs Brodie and Gracie.
I mean how can you not enjoy a face like this....

Gracie: "What?"

Sunday. Monday. Tuesday. Wednesday. Thursday. Friday. Saturday.

When things start that spiraly motion and the only thought you can wrap your brain around is "whats going on?" you have to say

I'll stand

When you know beyond question beyond even an inkling of wonder that you are in the center of God's will and plans change in a way you never thought possible, you've got to position yourself

with arms high and heart abandoned

Because our finite minds with all the wisdom in the world could never contrive the plans He has for us that are thick with pleasure, and knowing that we must live

In awe of the one who gave it all

So I'll choose to stand my soul Lord to You Surrender,
I choose to say and live that All I am is Yours

Great Comfort.

You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow,

Say this: "God, you're my refuge.
I trust in you and I'm safe!"
That's right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
under them you're perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.

Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.

You'll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God's your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can't get close to you,
harm can't get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they'll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

"If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God,
"I'll get you out of any trouble.
I'll give you the best of care
if you'll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I'll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!"

hmm

Looks like all the media-puppets...*cough* I mean Americans wanting change...got their way last night.

It is good to know how to persuade my generation though
Just throw some shinny "change" in their face and they'll blindly follow.

Shinny change! Shinny Change!
